Introduction of Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) / HST Rate Change Effective - July 1, 2010 - the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia will be combining their provincial sales tax (PST) and goods and services tax (GST) to create the harmonized sales tax (HST).  As a result, pick-ups made on/after this date will have HST applied on all intra-provincial shipments as well as domestic Canadian shipments destined for these provinces.  New HST rates will be: 13% in Ontario and 12% in BC.  The same day, a 2% tax increase will take effect in Nova Scotia.
